Gail Kohn is a nationally respected, award-winning visionary leader in aging services with more than 25 years experience, who in May 2007 joined a new and innovative organization, Capitol Hill Village, as its Executive Director. Capitol Hill Village was founded to help adults remain in their own homes in a vibrant Washington, DC neighborhood, cited as one of most livable places in the USA.

Prior to leading Capitol Hill Village, Kohn was with Linking Partners, LLC, a firm she created and manages.  Her clients have included Sunrise Development Corporation, Harvest Housing Corporation in England and others seeking to change, to achieve excellence in services for older persons or in need of an expert witness.  Until 2003 she was CEO of four Collington corporations, including a continuing care retirement community, located in Mitchellville, Maryland known for its racial inclusiveness, economic diversity and innovative, quality services. In addition to Collington, where she served as the founding chief executive officer, she was a leader in creating The Beacon Institute with its senior services education and research focus, creating LifeSpan Inc., the mid-Atlantic aging services provider organization with non-profit and proprietary members and shaping change in the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, a national accrediting entity she chaired for two years and served for six years as an elected member.

Kohn recently moved to Tacoma, Park Maryland with Donald, her husband for 41 years.  Mr. Kohn is the Federal Reserve Board vice-chairman. They have two married offspring and four grandchildren.   She stays in shape by rowing every morning with a team on the Potomac.  In addition to entertaining family and friends she enjoys gardening, roller blading, sailing and other water activities in Annapolis where they live on the weekends.
