A “Nautical but Nice” Evening to Benefit CHV
The 2015 Capitol Hill Village Gala—Let Your Dreams Set Sail, Celebrating a Community of Caring—is shaping up to be yet another party extraordinaire!
We are adding a live auction for 2015, with the gavel commanded by stage and screen star and Capitol Hill’s own David Sabin. The live auction will feature exciting getaways and other not-to-be-missed experiences. This page will be updated as auction items are added.
Salon Events promise dinners, or other repasts, with the famous and fascinating, and are are offered for a fixed price per seat. The number of guests allowed varies per Salon event and is limited by the size of the home where the event is held. This year's stellar roster of guests includes dinner with Julian Bond, civil rights leader, professor, writer, and Georgia state legislator. Or, you may choose to dine and converse with Capitol Hill neighbors Marie Arana and Jonathan Yardley. Marie is an author and the former editor of Washington Post Book World. Jonathan is the Post’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book critic.
Or take a seat at the table with Lynn Povich, author and the first female senior editor of Newsweek; WAMU reporter/anchor Rebecca Sheir; television and stage actor Ted Van Griethuysen; Associated Press Supreme Court reporter Mark Sherman; and more including former DC Mayor Tony Williams, former White House speechwriter Jeff Nussbaum, Navy Blue Angels pilot Tom Winkler, Smithsonian anthropologist
