Capitol Hill Village
Annual Report 2010

Message from the Executive Director

The fiscal year ending September 30, 2010, was an exciting time of change and development for Capitol Hill Village, as we responded to the comments and reports from our members, engaged with partner organizations in the aging-in-place movement, and worked with local government officials on matters of public policy.

Looking ahead to 2011, Capitol Hill Village will continue to evolve as a dynamic, responsive, neighborhood organization. Our goals are to increase membership, build the Rogers Fund in support of our low-income members, promote our Be-Prepared Agenda (which informs members on many legal, health-related, housing, and other end-of-life matters), partner with government agencies and private organizations in providing support services, gain professional accreditation, and help other “Villages” to get started and flourish. A major project of the next few years will be to support efforts to develop health-care and housing options right here on Capitol Hill, so that members who have determined they must give up their houses can stay in the neighborhood.
